This painting is about the feeling I had during a trip to Ukraine. It was my first trip primarily in Russian, and I was struggling with the feeling of being surrounded by beauty but at the same time very alone, and trapped behind the barrier of partial understanding. In addition, I had seen an exhibit at home of award winning landscapes, which seemed to me very easy to do. So I created my own award winning landscape in the background. |
