It is the time of year in Seattle in which there isn't enough ambient light to photograph paintings, so the image has some top glare. Maybe I will reshoot it sometime in which there is light during the day. This painting combines many different elements. In part, the idea started from watching the TV show Supernatural, which I like. But there are many other things going on, and the image popped into my head. The golden symbols are various mystic symbols, such as for Lucifer (upper left), angels (upper right) and sulfur (bottom), forming a triangle around the pentagram. The Greek in the background is from John 3:16 and Revelations 13:18. The Hebrew is an abbreviation for Caligula, who many scholars might be what the number of the beast refers to (or Nero). The Arabic is from the Quran, in particular the Satanic Verses and from an end of days passage.
