This is a very fast essentially impasto painting, unlike the way I normally like to paint. I was looking out the window of my studio, which is the only room in my house that is warm, and wanted to paint the snow on the branches in the 30 minutes or so that there was enough light left in the day to see. (It gets too dark to paint with natural light after 2.30) |
