This painting was influenced by a contemporary artist I admire who paints photorealistic fruit with Old Master's backdrops. Shortly after putting in the first coat, I saw a Mel Ramos painting of the Green Lantern for auction for 600K, and thus this painting got named after him. Consider the difference in pay between the person who designed the Campbell's soup label and the Warhol version. |
